Airport. With one day remaining before Sine Die on Tuesday at midnight, Atlanta Hartfield Jackson International Airport is safe from a Georgia State Government takeover for another day. That is, unless some compromise is made with the Senators on April Fools Day.
The House proposed an oversight committee SB 131 for the “tarnished” Atlanta airport that was not agreeable to the Senators yesterday. The jet fuel tax was amended onto this bill along with a comprehensive plan to create a new Department of Transit and Innovation (HB 511) with a goal of getting public transit available to rural Georgia. Abortion. The “heartbeat” bill essentially criminalizing doctors and families who lose or abort a fertilized egg after 6 weeks passed by one vote…..it needed 91 and got 92 and that includes 9 Republican women.
